This is very thought provoking sir. I think I understand why our attitude to failure might need a change. But first i have to ask, what is your definition of failure? Prototypes of something can be called failures since they are prototypes because they don't meet the requirements. A prototype is not made to be final. In a design process a sequence of failures is made, before hitting the mark. Maybe this is the origin of the quote 'failure is not final'? Certainly there is an attitude to failure that leads to subpar performance. Maybe failure only happens when one stops the process entirely? Or when one has no target or the wrong one?
